About NIAO NIAO FESTIVAL

NIAO NIAO FESTIVAL is Created and organized by XIAO KE × ZI HAN & Zu He Niao Collective from 2016 in Shanghai. It's a 0 budget, underground, self-service festival. We plan to make it happen every year.

HOW TO QUALIFY

AGE: 10 – 100 .   GENDER : any of the 56 google genders .   NATIONALITY : can be none

PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE : not necessary

RULES AND REGULATIONS

NOT OKAY: We do not allow the following…

1- Drama (no stagedramas,and nothing from a script)

2- Dance that can be categorized( aka ballet/folk dance/etc)

3- Performance art thatcauses harm to yourself or others

4- Previously staged works: This should be the first time this piece is seen.

5- Anybehavior or performance in breach of the law and public security

6- Fireand any inflammable material is strictly forbidden

OKAY: We welcome…

1- Your authentic body andmovement : no acting, no faking, no putting on heirs

2- Solo work

3- Amateurs

4- The live performancethat is improvised:  bring us your impulse/spontaneity

5- We welcome performative music or sound performance(but need to bring your own equipment)

6- We welcome expect that you could bringsomething unexpected: break our expectations

WHAT IS (IS NOT) PROVIDED

We do not provide travel or accommodation fees

We do not provide any performance fee

We do not provide any production fee

We welcome friends who are not based in SH and come

We do not provide any performance license or certificates

We do not provide any instruction for your performance

We DO provide a performance venue, simple equipment, and interesting objects We DO provide help to facilitate your performance please feel free to tell us what you need.
