PROJECT NOTE
In 2018, Xiao Ke × Zi Han first presented CHINAME as a lecture-performance within the ADAM programme at the Taipei Arts Festival. The presentation generated broad interest and participation among the audience, after which the artists conducted field interviews in Taipei.
In 2019, Xiao Ke × Zi Han returned to the Taipei Arts Festival to screen the CHINAME interview documentary and begin a second round of research. The research plan involved two weeks in Taipei and nearby areas.
The second round included a two-day durational live interview in a closed room. Each day ran for six hours, from 1pm to 7pm, inviting local people to meet the artists face to face. The interviews were filmed, relayed live by closed-circuit video, and broadcast online through Facebook.
The CHINAME interview documentary was also presented at the Taipei Arts Festival.
Due to force majeure, the Taipei phase of the project ended in 2019.
